The project SENSACTION-AAL (SENSing and ACTION to support mobility in Ambient Assisted Living), funded with 2 million euros from the thematic area "Technologies of Information Society (IST)" of the Sixth Framework Program (FP6) of the EU, has developed technology-based intelligent sensors that, attached to the body, allows physicians to provide care at home for the benefit of patients.
The project partners have developed the device "Hybrid DynaPort" and the application "MoveMonitor" to detect movement, gather information and transmit data through a single small device. The movement and posture of the user are monitored and recorded on a device that the user hangs up a special elastic belt strapped to his waist.
The AAL-SENSACTION partners are from Germany, Israel, Italy, Netherlands, Slovakia and Spain.
