 eyeOS is remarkable for its simplicity because with the system and a web browser and without installing anything else, we have the main office applications like a word processor and spreadsheet, as well as communication tools like email. One of the most prominent news is the collaborative work. Besides being able to access a document from anywhere, editing can be done by different people at the same time.
EyeOS is a free software platform. Therefore, any programmer can add new programs to the system. It has specific versions for schools, government and business. Although the source code is already available to developers, the user version will be available within weeks, and free.
Behind this project are both public institutions, among them that are the Generalitat of Catalonia and the CESGA, and private, with Telefonica as latest addition.
