The Galician ICT Technology Platform was born with one main objective:

Produce and promote synergies between the actors in Galicia interested in ICT to participate in the planning of the R&D of the ICT industry in Galicia as well as position it as leader in strategic sectors.

To achieve this objective in the long term a number of primary objectives must be accomplished, namely:

• Create and articulate the forum of galician agents interested in the R&D&I in ICT and provide continuity in the future.
• Get a strategic vision on the medium to long term, benefiting from already existing synergies and knowledge management in Galicia.
• Agreeing on a Strategic Research Agenda, where are defined the main lines of research and technological development.
• Mobilize public and private financial resources to accomplish the challenges set in the Strategic Research Agenda, both regionally and nationally and internationally.
• Agree a financial plan that will allow the sustainability of the platform beyond the period of the requested grant.
• Promote the internationalization of the galician R&D&I in ICT through active participation in other national and European technology platforms as well as increase the participation in European R&D projects.
