Smart Cities

The main goal of the “Smart Cities” WorkGroup is the creation of an innovation workspace around the Smart City concept.

To reach this goal the group will work in this areas of interest:

• Energy and sustainability
• Mobility and transport
• Environment and recycling
• ICT and research
• Urban Planning

The main actions of the group will be:

• Analyze the ICT solutions for a better management of our cities.
• Give global sustainability and efficiency solutions to Public Administrations and city managers.
• Spread ICT as a key factor to boost public services quality
• Mixing knowledge, capacities and experience of all members of the group to develop enriched and complex projects.
• Identify upgrades and benefits from the "Smart City" technologies in Galician cities in order to boost R&D&i projects.
• Spread between the society the potential and possibilities of new systems in order to let the users demand smarter cities.

Projects planned:

• Development of tools for urban management.
• Reports and working papers from the information and conclusions extracted from the work or the members.
• Active searching for "Smart City" system aplications with real implantation possibilities in Galician areas.
